Biography:

LAMIA is a music artist, producer, vocalist, and practice-based research academic based in London.

LAMIA is inspired by underground internet-centric genres such as breakcore, which is rebellious in nature and drives wider musical change in electronic popular music. She combines these sounds with rich, haunting vocals, cinematic soundscapes, and industrial sounds - a noise-influenced style inspired by music production training in Berlin. LAMIA writes, performs, and produces her own material.

Funded by an artistic grant from MusicBoard Berlin, her self-produced and self-released EP SIMULACRA, mastered by Urbicks Music (Arca, LSDXOXO), received multiple playlistings on BBC Radio 1, BBC Introducing, Reprezent Radio, Threads Berlin and others. Goldsmiths University and Accidental Records collaborative label NX Records also supported her music alongside subculture platform KALTBLUT Magazine, who premiered her co-directed music video ‘Not Enough’.

LAMIA is currently performing 'Simulacra States', an audio-visual set made in collaboration with computational artist Brian Hart, combining 3D rendered artwork and her self-produced music (project funded by MusicBoard Berlin).

Key performances include Berlin’s world-renowned venue Berghain Kantine (DE), a Live Session with BBC Introducing 2023 (UK), PureGold Festival at Goldsmiths University 2023 (UK) and Changeover Festival (SRB).
